The Day The Cons Went Wild!

Richard ‘Hub’ Hughes-Political Blogger

A few months back I affiliated with ‘Progressive Bloggers’ an independent group of the centre-left persuasion.  One of the bloggers ‘Montreal Simon’ is a prolific poster and an astute observer of our Parliament, such as it is.

His latest post raises many points but one disturbing departure from accepted practice should cause as much or more concern than the thug approach the Harper Cons have brought to our parliament and that is the question of the Speaker not intervening when Conservative Peter Van Loon stormed across the floor to dropping  ‘F” bombs and displaying boorish and threatening behaviour.

Here is his latest and it is right on the money.

hi Richard…thanks for linking to my post. And I’m glad you agree with me that the Speaker should have intervened to send Van Loan back to his place. Instead of just standing there frozen like a mannequin. But then I’m afraid that this Speaker only leans one way like the Tower of Pisa. We’ve had some good speakers in recent times, but he ain’t one of them…
