BC Conservative Leader John Cummins has struck a new blow for stupidity with his call for loyalty and obedience from his party members.
He told the party members that they must declare their loyalty or resign by Wednesday and leave the party.
Party President Al Siebring and others had just managed to stop the bleeding caused from the departures of former BC Liberal Cabinet Minister and their only sitting MLA John Van Dongen and an also ran Chilliwack candidate John Martin.
Martin joined the BC Liberals after being sweet talked by BC Liberal House Leader Rich Coleman who was seen grinning like a sheep eating thistles at the well publicized move over to Christy`s camp.
On the heels of that bad news Cummins survived a leadership challenge and then grabbed the gun out of its holster and shot himself in the foot by demanding undying love and devotion from the battle weary BC Conservative membership.
In a ‘My way of the Highway’ ultimatum Cummins seems to be determined to rescue defeat from the jaws of his leadership challenge victory.
Cummins ultimatum is more like a death wish. He is now poised to join the long list of leadership casualties that the BC Conservatives have become known for.
The party operatives can stamp their feet and spin it until they are dizzy but John Cummins is history.
He must have learned his obedience demands from Steve Harper. Harper had plums to dish out, Cummins has only the pits.Did someone say that Bill Vanderzalm was about to jump in and take a run at the leadership in a last ditch attempt to once again become the Premier of BC?
Did they? No they did not, but this is BC remember.
