The Village of Lions Bay’s Most Prominent Political Commentator is calling for Premier Clark to step aside for the good of the BC Liberal Party and the Province of BC.
How many of us have had the same idea? A great many I daresay. I expect that there will many posts, articles and general discussion and conversation regarding the demise of the BC Liberal’s under Ms Christy Clark.
I would even go so far as to suggest that if Gordon Campbell returned from his cushy and prestigous post in London he would probably be able to double Christy Clark’s support in a BC Liberal Convention.

BC NDP Leader Adrian Dix
Of course as a New Democrat I am looking forward to seeing Premier Adrian Dix eclipse the BC Libs, but not a rout like when the BC NDP were reduced to only two elected MLA’s.
Remember that 2001 Campbell victory where Joy McPhail and Jenny Kwan alone countered the demented Gordon Campbell’s tour of wealth transfer, tax breaks for the rich and corporate elite, drastic cutbacks, attacks on hospital workers and teachers, ahh, but so much for nostalgia.
Now of course barring divine intervention Christy and her crew are in dire straits.

Christie Clark
In our parliamentary form of government one or more strong parties are required to provide the necessary dynamics needed to function properly. So I agree with Rafe Mair that the BC Liberals should part company with the out of touch, out of sync, out of credibility Miss Christy and the sooner the better.
They have time to pull it off and although they will not win this upcoming election a renewed BC Liberal Party is desirable.

Former Premier Gordon Campbell
I wish them luck in their efforts. Well, not too much but enough to regroup. In the end we should have a very much improved provincial government under Adrian Dix come the third week of May 2013.Oh, take a minute to vote in the Poll in the right panel, and oh again, I almost forgot Rafe, here he is.

Both you and Rafe seem to have taken too much happy juice today. You are losing your edge. Why should you care what happens to the Liberals? I suspect many of their voters will simply move over to the BC Conservative Party under John Cummins. They too, are pro-Enbridge and for development of LNG, fracking and a “New West Partnership Agreement” for profit sharing.
I care deeply about the BC Liberals, sort of. What I do not want to see is a massive NDP win with a very small opposition. An NDP win with an opposition of at least 20 t0 25 members is required to keep government on their toes.
Like I said, what the Liberals lose, the Conservatives will gain. so there will likely be a good opposition. So really, you do NOT care about the Liberals, you care that there is a healthy but small opposition, no matter who it is.
It will be interesting to see where the votes go. Many times people will vote the brand no matter what. I do not care other than I want to see a functional opposition.
