I had a call this morning that was amusing, but only because I knew that it was a scam. The caller, with a thick foreign accent, identified himself as James Anderson from the Canada Revenue Agency. That was my first tip, and then proceeded with his rapid fire pitch.
They were on to me it seems, and my tax cheating ways, and were now moving in to nail me for fraud and Income Tax evasion. Of course I would be arrested, drawn and quartered and the rest.
Naturally I would have loved to dance around with these sleazy thugs for awhile, but that pleasure will have to wait for another day if they call back again.
Turns out he called again but I lost the call as I was on another line. So, I called him back. He answered the call as ‘Canada Revenue Agency’.
You can call this creep purported to be CRA Officer James Anderson if you want. His number is 450 823 0414 and you can share your thoughts with him.
*** Well possibly many of you did as the number has been disconnected***
If enough call he will he might have to get a new number. Trouble is that some folks get sucked by and pay these guys money. They can be aggressive, threatening and mean. If this happens to you write everything that you can remember down and then call your local police station and tell them about it.
I looked up ‘Bogus Revenue Canada Collection Calls’ and of there was a whole page set up detailing the scam. I called the number and surprise all lines were busy. I may try again later. A quick tour on Google will supply you with armloads of stories and useful information.
